First of all, make sure that you have enough. For big events, you'll need to have enough award plaques for the places that you plan on awarding. This might mean that you need to order a lot of them right away, and have them waiting. Something else that you want to remember is that you might have a tie, or a situation where you are giving out more than you thought you would, so be sure to prepare for this by having some extra around as well.
You'll also want to think about the actual award plaques that you are giving, in terms of what they look like. You can choose the information to put on the plaque, and you can also have the date, the person's name, and all of the information about why they are receiving it. However, you might also want to think about how to have the plaque. Do you want it a certain color or with a certain finish? What about the script for the writing? Lastly, you also need to think about sizes for the award plaques. For some events, you'll want to have them all the same size. However, if you are awarding different distinctions for different accomplishments, you'll need to be sure that there are different sizes of award plaques because then you can show the difference between what someone has done and what someone else has done.
No matter what, you'll find that award plaques are going to be the best way to celebrate accomplishments.
